ESF Street Furniture Display Area
ESF have designed and developed an outdoor display area in the Lisburn depot, Co Down, Northern Ireland. The area is an all Ireland resource to be utilised by branch and brand alike.
The display area was developed as a joint venture between Burdens all Ireland and ESF. An unused wasteland area in the Lisburn depot was totally revamped by landscaping it to produce an exterior area that would become an outdoor showroom for customers to view, touch and try out our street furniture, highways and exterior lighting products.
The surface area received a major facelift and was divided into different zones to add texture and movement to the display area and make it more interesting. It also mimics possible installations - such as bark mulch for a forest park area, grass for a public park, loose stones and paving for urban developments.
The products utilised represent ESF’s 4 main product portfolios –

The majority of the samples are purposely not permanently installed so that we have the option of changing and updating the display area, perhaps to focus on a certain product type or a certain collection. Thus it is forever evolving and will remain relevant to our business needs.
In September 2010 Burdens and ESF organised a 2 day launch of the new display area, opening it to all our customers and staff. The launch was a great success with over 25no customers visiting such as Council employees, contractors and architects. The general feedback was excellent with customers commenting on how useful it was to physically see and test out our products. The launch also resulted in several new sales enquiries and 2 schools projects specifications from our Simplicity and Signature Collections.
We also arranged a visit from the local press, with an article on the launch and focus on the Lisburn depot printed the week before and an article and photograph printed the week of the launch.
Our plans for 2011 are to develop the display area even further by adding more highways and exterior lighting products from our Streetwise Collection. We plan to organise another open day with a focus on our Streetwise Collection.
